Much-awaited iPhone 4S FInally launched in India

The wait for Apple's iPhone 4S to hit Indian shores came to an end after leading telecom operators Airtel and Aircel on Friday launched the much-awaited iPhone 4S in the country at price starting from Rs 44,500.

Both the telecom operators have priced the 16-GB model at Rs 44,500, while the 32-GB and 64-GB versions will be available for Rs 50,900 and Rs 57,500, respectively.
The iPhone 4S is powered by Apple's dual-core A5 chip, the one that is also present inside the iPad 2. The A5 chip delivers up to twice the processing power and up to seven times faster graphics than the iPhone 4.
It includes an autofocus 8 megapixel camera that has a new custom lens with a larger f/2.4 aperture, and runs iOS 5, Apple's latest mobile operating system(OS). Another interesting feature is the new voice-activated personal assistant, Siri that helps users get things done just by asking.
It features a 3.5-inch retina display at 960x640p resolution. Users can record videos in 1080p HD and also use the front facing VGA camera for video chatting.
Though pre-booking for the latest iPhone model was on from November 18, starting midnight, the device will be up for grabs at select Airtel and Aircel stores.
The iPhone 4S's predecessors - the iPhone 3GS and the iPhone 4 - are still available in the Indian market, priced at Rs 20,900 (8GB) and Rs 37,900 (8GB) respectively.
