Mozilla Firefox as a most favorite browser web applications have many tips and tricks for optimization, you can read more about tips & tricks browsers. At this time, I’ll try to share tutorial how to create backup & restore bookmarks on Firefox browser without help from any third-party softwares.
This feature is handy, for simple example case. If someday you want to uninstall operating system on the computer (has the effect of eliminating all data storage), and then if you want to install Firefox again, you don’t need to bother doing bookmarks all over again because it already has a backup.
Backup Bookmarks
After open the Firefox browser, click at the “Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks” menu. You can use keyboard button “Ctrl + Shift + B” as the shortcuts. After the library window appear, and it will shows menu default like “Bookmarks Toolbar, Menu, and Unsorted Bookmarks” (you may backup some or more specific). Now you can click on “Import and Backup” button and click “Backup” again.
Then the “Bookmarks backup filename” dialog box appears on your window. Create your own name for this Firefox backup file. Save your file backup on your PC, and now you’ve been created Firefox bookmarks backup.
Restore Bookmarks
Actually, the steps to make a restore are not different from making backup. Go to the “Organize Bookmarks” and after Library window appear, click at the “Import and Backup > Restore > Choose File…” option.
Select your backup bookmarks file from your PC and click Open and OK button. After doing that close the Library window, and your bookmarks will be visible on the Bookmarks menu.
