Windows 7 as the new operating system is actually has a lot of hidden and useful features that may not have been known for newbie users, and of course still can be optimized again, so your Windows 7 become more multifunctional.
One of the interesting hidden and useful feature of Windows 7 is Add Search Internet link to Windows 7 Start Menu. Which when you search using the Start Menu’s SearchBox, a link will appear to Search the Internet.
Just simply click and the search string opens in your default search provider in your default browser, so make sure in your PC already installed your default browser such as Mozilla Firefox. Keep on mind to do this tips only works with Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Ultimate versions.
If you interesting and wanna to try this, first open the Start Menu. In the Search Box, write “GPEDIT.MSC” and Enter. On the Local Group Policy Editor tab, click on the “User Configuration” (see screenshot below).
After that, click on “Administrative Templates” and choose “Start Menu and Taskbar”. Check another menu on the right window and double-click on “Add Search Internet link to Start Menu” (see screenshot below).
After the all steps above, the last window “Add Search Internet link to Start Menu” will appear. Give check on “Enable” options and click OK (see screenshot below).
Now you can do search faster by using this feature. The main destination of this tips is like created the default browser on Windows beside Internet Explorer. The default browser as you want has appear on the SearchBox from the Windows 7 Start Menu.
